I thought it was a Mitsubishi Eclipse but on closer inspection it isn't

Quote from JTbo :I have seen video of heavily modified srt car, he accelerated really fast from lights and other car was M3 I think that could not keep up at all, actually that srt car had lot of grip issues in 1st gear, then after he shifted 3rd gear it did broke down, can't remember if it was box or engine, hmm, I think it was this piston trough block issue that he got, but also I think that car had AWD so maybe it was not srt after all, my memory is not too good

I think he built much better engine after that, but never saw video from that.

Quite rare car that is then, no wonder we never got that here, only very few of those basic model Neons here that seem to be really low powered even engine is not so small.

I see you have there also Quaife diff, that is really nice unit, beats any other LSD solution in terms of grip (ok, electronically controlled active diff is better, but how many has one?), because more power is going to tire that has more grip, Audi has similar way working Torsen diff, best for racing those two, imo.

I'm pretty sure the car in the video you're thinking of is a modified Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. I love that video so much, it speaks volumes about so many things

[edit]I'm assuming you mean this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRe7vV8toP4 [/edit]

12/10 for the "Cars" avatar

No need to rate mine again, but it's not a bug, there's just a huge curb at Paul Richard that's basically a ramp that I jumped off.

This light speed stuff has actually made this one of the more interesting topics floating around this forum right now. Wikipedia is working overtime for me right now

I don't really know anything about vB forums, but I think that any hack against a commercial site should be taken as seriously as possible. I don't think my credit card information is connected with my forum account, but I'm not sure, and I'd rather not find out the hard way. I'm not a laywer or a judge but I do think at least some fiscal compensation should be paid to the Developers to cover lost development time in fixing this mess.

Quote from skiingman :As the Ford link points out, the Nextel Cup cylinder heads are very much for sale, very much in production, and are very likely to be found at a circle track near you. Well, maybe not you, but we've got hundreds of the things.

No, none of the major manufacturers build and sell tube frame racecars to the public.....what does this have to with them all being "the same" eh?

And on another note, if you don't think a small block can be shoved into "real cars" I suggest you get out more. Jeebus, I could more easily list the vehicles I haven't seen a small block chevy in....

Oh, the Monte Carlo is available with a SBC, as is the Impala. And the Charger. No, none of them share anything other than headlights (headlight stickers) but no, none of them are the same.

I think you and Viper93 are both right, because I think you're arguing different things. While Nascar cup cars are certainly not exactly the same, the bear absolutely no resemblence to their production counterparts, which is I think what Viper93 is trying to say. They are all similar in the fact that they are tube frame cars powered by carburated pushrod V8 engines with similar suspension, brakes, and weight. They are most definitely not identical, you need to look at IROC for that

Quote from dropin_biking :Original Post....

You remind me so exactly of myself, almost everything you've written about, I've done (Minus the drug and alcohol experiences and the Toyota Supra, damn.) I think you're perfectly normal, but then again, you sound exactly like me, so I'm not exactly the best judge...

From the way you write, I'd honestly look into a career in automotive journalism, you seem to have the right sense of imagery that car magazines seem to demand. I found your post quite enjoyable to read, and it's really refreshing to see a high school student who actually takes care to spell and use words correctly.

As for not fitting in at school, do your best to seek out other car enthusiasts, no matter how much or how little they know about cars, what kind of cars they like, or whatever, just hang out with them. I was extremely lucky, as my neighbor less than two blocks away is as much of a car nut as I am, so there's always someone to talk cars with. I'm doubly lucky to have met a girl who also likes cars, and not because they're "cute" or "pretty," she actually likes cars as cars.

By the way, I don't consider it weird to be hanging around forums for games, and actually feeling you know the people on the forum. The internet is a big place, and I can't really think of any better way to find people that share your interests.

So, have fun, and see you on the track

P.S. Get S2!!!

FXO GTR here. Looks far nicer than the FZR to me, the XRR is a close second. I like boxy looking cars, and the FXR is just about perfect. I don't care for either the FZ50 or the FZR, they both look bloated, and rather ugly, the FZR is worse though.

I actually like the look of the GTi a lot, as well as the XR GT. I just love the look of late 80's/early 90's cars

Painting the grill insert body color makes a world of difference. That alone took the car from being pretty ugly to looking really nice. I still prefer the Evo V and VI though. The Evo IX is pretty nice too.

Quote from carmaniac1993 :I think that oneday when im rich or average i will get a boat..(not massive but a good size one)..and put an rb26dett..most boats have 350's or 454's stock nowadays and lots of ppl swap their motors in boats too..so y not mix it up and get an rb26dett boat prepared by a shop (water log exits and all) and get it installed in your boat..that would be one tasty mofo..u could even modifie it liek crazy lol and convert it to a sigle turbo if yea want..but i would want to find some way of keeping the 6 speed transmisson instead of a 1 speed boat transmisson this would rock sooo much!

Boat motors are all about torque. A 2.6L Turbo is never going to pull a boat out of the hole and up on plane the way a V8 would, at least not in a large boat. Turbo 4s do work fine in Jet Skis though.... Oh, and boats don't need transmissions, that's what differently pitched propellers are for. A boat's range of speed is much smaller than a car, so it really doesn't need a transmission. A very fast boat might hit 65 mph, which is still first gear in some cars, there's really no need for gearing.

I voted for Medium, although I vary between medium and small. I'm afraid there won't be many in my size though, as it seems most people are larger than I am.

There are, honestly, a ton of Americans who are fat, and a ton that are stupid. There's just no getting around it. Just today, I was at an amusement park, and the rollercoaster needed to wait at the station, because several passengers were too fat to actually fit in the seats. The scary thing was, these people didn't seem "fat." What most people percieve as normal weight, is actually around 15 pounds overweight, which is a lot.

And as for a lot of Americans being stupid, I could write an essay on all the stupid things I've seen people do, I'd say some, but it's late and I'm tired...

I've had my car egged before, it was parked out in the driveway, and apparently someone had come through the neighborhood and egged every car that was parked outside. I was freaking PISSED, I now have paint missing everywhere there was egg, if I ever find out who did it, he'll be getting up close and personal with the front end of the aforementioned car...

The LFS World server was down this afternoon/evening. The hole is just because it wasn't recording anything. I was playing at that time, everything worked fine except LFSW queries, and no PBs were recorded obviously.
